Volunteer: Adele Ferrara

Adele Ferrara volunteered for two years and served as a board member for a short time for which all of us are very grateful. Many equines were helped because of her dedication. She would like to share this information with you:

"I have always loved horses, however, growing up in New York City did not afford me the opportunity to be around them much. When I moved to Florida in 2005 I volunteered at a horse rescue to be around horses and learn about their care. From that day on I was hooked! I now own a German Warmblood gelding who I show locally and spoil the rest of the time.

"My husband Howard and I have four dogs and a cat also. Three of our dogs are rescues and we also work with two local animal rescues in Florida. We both have a passion for animals and find so much fulfillment in volunteer work. After reading Saving Baby-How One Woman's Love for a Racehorse Led to Her Redemption, I was so moved by the story that I knew at that moment that I had to be a part of Saving Baby Equine Charity. There is no greater comfort than knowing you had a helping hand in healing a wounded horse and finding him a loving home. What a wonderful tribute to Baby!"
